Planning - Fifth leg

Galápagosöarna (stavningen Galapagosöarna förekommer också) är en ögrupp, som hör till Ecuador och känt för Charles Darwins forskning som resulterade i hans teori om naturligt urval. Eftersom ögruppen på 20 öar ligger så isolerat finns där många djurarter som bara lever på just dessa öar. 49 % av fåglarna finns bara här, och 95 % av kräldjursarterna, bl a galapagossköldpadda En kul fågel som vi hoppas få se är Blåfotad sula (Blue-footed Booby).

The Blue-footed Booby is a "cool" bird in that have the natural breeding habitatat at the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador. The name booby comes from the Spanish term bobo, which means "stupid" or "fool"/"clown". The Islands are maybe most known for Charles Darwin's research that resulted in his theory of natural selection. As the archipelago of 20 islands are so isolated, there where many species live only on these islands so called endemic species.

Planning - Fourth leg

Due to high altitude sickness and others problems we where forced to skip the visit to Titicaca and Easter Island. Instead we will visit Lima and the capital city in Equador; Guayaquil.

Då vi fick problem med den höga höjden i Cusco bestämde vi att hoppa över Titicaca och Påskön; den senare pga att flyget avgick från hög höjd (3.500 m öh)

After Machu Picchu we are planing to go to the rain forest of Amazonas - Manu National Parc

Planning - First leg

Planering; första flygstop blir på vägen till Peru. Antagligen via Amsterdam, London eller New York.

Machu Picchu anses ha byggts av inkan Pachacuti omkring 1440 och var bebodd fram till den spanska erövringen av Peru 1532. Den är byggd på en 500 meter hög bergstopp, med stupande sidor åt nästan alla håll. På Unescos världsarvslista förstås.

Planning; first flight will stop on the way to Peru. Probably through Amsterdam, London or New York.

Machu Picchu is considered to have been built by the Inca Pachacuti around 1440 and was inhabited until the Spanish conquest of Peru 1532nd It is built on a 500 meter high mountain peak, with steep sides to almost every direction. UNESCO World Heritage Site, of course.
